For more than 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in the optical industry—and somewhere along the way, I realized that eyewear was about so much more than simply helping someone see clearly. It’s personal. The glasses you wear sit on your face every day. They become part of how people see you and, just as importantly, part of how you see yourself. Your eyewear can communicate your personality, your creativity, your confidence, and your sense of style. I believe choosing a pair of glasses should be an experience—not a transaction. A Career Built Around Eyewear
My journey in optical began more than 15 years ago, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with countless patients, explore the craftsmanship behind independent eyewear, and learn what truly makes a great pair of glasses. I’ve always been drawn to the creative side of optical. I love discovering designers who approach eyewear differently, learning about new lens technologies, and finding the frame that somehow just fits a person—not only physically, but aesthetically and emotionally. My experience has taught me that there is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” approach to eyewear. Every face is different. Every prescription is different. Every lifestyle is different. And every person has their own story. That’s what makes this industry so rewarding.
From Seattle to Omaha
My optical career began on the West Coast, where I built my experience and developed a deep appreciation for independent optical and the boutique eyewear experience. After years in Seattle, I eventually made the move to Omaha, Nebraska. Moving to a new city gave me an opportunity to look at optical through a different lens—literally and figuratively. I wanted to create something that brought together the technical side of opticianry with the creativity, individuality, and personal attention that I felt great optical experiences should have. That vision became Frame & Focus Optical.
